Citizen Mapmakers is a new pilot program that offers members their very own page on our site to introduce themselves and showcase their redistricting plans online. The initiative is part of an innovative effort to increase engagement, further discussion and enhance the visibility of citizen cartographers.
Citizen mapmakers are often allowed to submit redistricting plans to politicians, legislators, and committee’s for official consideration. In many cases, these maps are more objective, sensible, and fair than many of those drawn by actual representatives.
We believe one of the best ways to bring about redistricting reform is to create an army of citizen cartographers!
If interested, sign up and request administrator rights to your very own page. Our site uses an easy drag and drop web builder and our staff is here to assist you every step of the way. Once completed, pages can be linked to twitter, shared with friends, and used as a portfolio for potential employers!
Thanks again, and welcome to the army of citizen mapmakers.
