Fair Districts GA Orientation to Lobbying Against Gerrymandering
Fair Districts GA Map Minders have a variety of opportunities to carry our message about redistricting reform to law makers and government leaders. Some Map Minders will focus on in-person meetings while others will communicate through postcarding and telephoning. Whether you live across the state or near the capitol, in a district represented by Republicans or Democrats--we need you! Please volunteer to make fair electoral districts a reality in Georgia.
A free orientation for those who will do in-person communication with legislators will be held on January 8 at the state capitol from 1:30 to 3:30pm. Orientation topics will include:
*An explanation of the redistricting reform legislation with Chris Bruce, Policy Counsel for ACLU-GA
*Insights about lobbying best practices from experienced citizen-lobbyist Perry Mitchell
*Plans and expectations for the 2019 Georgia General Assembly session from State Senator Elena Parent and Representative Becky Evans
Fill out this form to register for the January 8 orientation. Even if you can't come in January, please fill out the form to tell us about your interest in other actions to be organized by the FDGA Map Minders.
