Description

Ensuring fair redistricting is the League’s number one goal.

Join us Feb. 12, 7-9 p.m.at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, corner of 34th and Abercorn, to hear Elisabeth Macnamara speak on Keeping the Fox Out of the Hen House: The Citizen’s Role in the Process of Deciding Who Represents Us.

Macnamara is the former president of the national League of Women Voters and of the Georgia state League. She is the League’s lead negotiator on redistricting in Georgia.

The U.S. Census in 2020 will determine how districts are drawn. We are asking for changes in this legislative session that:

  • Promote fair and effective representation

  • An independent commission to take charge of the redistricting process

  • Standards that are roughly equal in population, geographically contiguous, and drawn without regard for partisan voting patterns.
